Types and characteristics of carbon monoxide catalysts
Carbon monoxide catalysts are mainly copper oxide (CuO) and manganese dioxide (MnO₂) as the main raw materials, and these catalysts have a good catalytic effect on CO in dry environment (normal temperature and pressure). They work on the principle that when carbon monoxide passes through the catalyst layer, the catalyst can cause CO to react with oxygen in the air to produce carbon dioxide (CO₂), which is harmless to the human body.
The density of this kind of catalyst is 0.5g/ml, granular structure, particle size is 2~4mm, and has good permeability. In use, air must be forced through the catalyst layer to ensure the catalytic effect. It is worth noting that this type of catalyst is more sensitive to water vapor, and the catalyst will quickly fail when the humidity exceeds 45%, so it is more suitable for use in dry environments.
