How to choose a gas mask？

Gas masks are mainly divided into two types: air duct type and direct type. The air duct type connects the mask and the gas filter device through the air duct; the direct type integrates the gas filter device with the mask.

Gas masks are usually composed of masks, gas filter canisters, etc. The mask is used to fit the face to form a sealed space; the gas filter canister has an adsorbent layer, a filter layer, etc. The adsorbent layer uses activated carbon and other materials to adsorb toxic gases; the filter layer uses filter materials to block dust and other particles. The catalyst in the gas filter canister is used to accelerate certain chemical reactions and convert toxic substances into harmless substances. The role of the catalyst in the gas filter canister is crucial, and the conventional placement is hopcalite catalyst or precious metal catalyst. Due to cost-effectiveness and actual use range, the use of hopcalite catalyst is higher than that of precious metal catalyst. In particular, it has high catalytic performance for carbon monoxide and can oxidize it into carbon dioxide. It has high catalytic activity and stability, and can maintain a good catalytic effect within a certain temperature and humidity range.

When choosing a gas mask, it is necessary to select a suitable gas filter canister according to the toxic substances in the environment. Refer to China GB2890 - 1995 or Taiwan CNS 14258 - 1998 and US and EU standards. When using, make sure the mask is worn correctly and well sealed, and regularly check the integrity and effectiveness of the mask and gas filter canister. In an environment where the concentration of toxic gas changes, the use strategy should be adjusted in time. For example, in a low-toxic or non-toxic environment, the mask should be removed in time to prevent inhalation of toxic gas desorbed by activated carbon. At the same time, pay attention to the service life of the gas filter canister and replace it in time when it expires.
